The QR engine is an inline-four piston engine produced by Nissan, introduced back in 2000. Their displacement ranges from 2.0 to 2.5L, and the motors are aluminum, DOHC (dual overhead camshaft) designs with four valves and (optional) direct injection.

The QR25DE has a 2.5L displacement, and is built with a steel timing chain, cast steel connecting rods, an aluminum intake manifold and counter-rotating balance shafts. The output goes from 152 horsepower to 175 horsepower, depending on the vehicle application.

Compared to the regular QR25DE, found in the 02-06 Nissan Altima and 02-05 Nissan Sentra, the one you can find in the 07-12 Sentra has a few improvements. There’s a larger diameter single path resin intake manifold, a revised piston crown shape, revised cam shaft profile, as well as a few other things. All of this results in a higher power output and rev limit. If looking for a QR25DE engine for sale, note which version you need.
